College Football.

In the late 19th century, the history of what football is today had just begun. Originally referred to as “gridiron football”, which was related to the English sports soccer and rugby, quickly became more and more popular in universities across the country. The first American football “contest” was held on November 6, 1869, between Princeton and Rutgers in New Brunswick, New Jersey (now known as Princeton University).

The person responsible for this transition from rugby to the sport we know and love today is named Walter Camp, who is known as the “Father of American Football”. He helped create and shape the rules behind the game by partnering with the Intercollegiate Football Association (IFA).

With football being America’s favorite sport and the 153rd season of college football starting, we thought it would be fitting to ask our agents who your favorite college football team, your predictions for the season, and what your favorite game day traditions are! Tell us the story behind your love for the game below!

Managing Your Summer Well

If you are like most of us, we love Summer for the sunshine and rest it brings, but can often get bogged down and feel unproductive.

We have created this article to help you manage your summer well so that you can build healthy habits, stay on top of your work, and have the relaxing summer we all hope for!

3 Time Management Tips:

    1. Write down your goals for the summer!

Written priorities and personal goals will help you become more aware of your goals and help you focus on what is most important to you. By writing down specific and measurable ways to achieve your goals that you can refer back to, you will be able to see your progress along the way! Written goals can give you vision, hope and inspiration!

2. Stick to a schedule!

Scheduling your time well has been proven to lead to all-around personal development and discipline. Not only does creating a schedule establish a consistent routine in your life, but it can help you feel more accomplished and help your goals become more tangible. (Hint: Sticking to a schedule can help you complete jobs most efficiently and effectively on the Field!) Most importantly, it allows you to spend your time where it matters most.

3. Prioritize wisely!

Prioritizing your tasks from most important to least important can help you complete what needs to be done, on time. This will help you focus on the most important things with full attention and focus, and result in minimizing stress and feeling accomplished.

We hope these tips will help you manage your summer well so that you can maximize your time and achieve your goals!

Did You Know? National Donut Day Edition!

Donut get us started about National Donut Day! Or do, because who doesn’t love donuts?

Friday, June 3rd is National Donut Day. Each year, this holiday falls on the first Friday of June. And, the history of this holiday is actually quite interesting.

National Donut Day can be traced back to the volunteers of the Salvation Army in World War 1. There was a group of volunteers who were tasked with providing comforting meals to the soldiers on the front line. These volunteers quickly found that donuts were an efficient and effective way to provide food in the difficult circumstances. They would even use war helmets to fry up donuts! In 1938, National Donut Day was established as a way to honor the volunteers of the Salvation Army that showed up to help soldiers in the first World War.

How cool is that? Be sure to celebrate with a donut or two today! Most donut shops across the country have some sort of donut special (some even have free donuts– and we know our Agents love a good freebie)!

What is your favorite kind of donut? Let us know in the comments!

How To Clean Your Microwave

Microwaves make life a little easier when it comes to quickly throwing a meal together. But, they also can be messy and hard to clean. They get even harder to clean when you let food sit and cook over and over again.

So, it’s time to clean that microwave!

Supplies:

1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of white vinegar
Microwave-safe bowl
Damp sponge or microfiber cloth
Instructions:

Place the water and vinegar in a bowl and microwave on high until the mixture comes to a rolling boil and the window steams up.
Allow the microwave to cool for a few minutes, then wipe the interior down with the sponge or cloth.
