What Is Laundry Stripping?

If you’ve spent any amount of time on Instagram or Facebook in the last year, you’ve probably seen a friend or two “strip” their laundry. And no, it’s not that!

So, what is it? Oh, just the grossest, yet cleanest thing you’ll ever do.

  1. I’ve tried this and I found it didn’t make too much of a difference with my color clothes .However my whites , particularly my linens and towels gave me a pretty satisfactory grey goo water 😜😩

  2. So I’ve done this with my boyfriend’s work clothes. He builds swimming pools & although he’s not a mechanic, which I’ve seen so much dirt come out of the clothes, he still had lots of dirt come out of his clothes. Basically filled the tub with hot water. I also put being water from the stove in there to make it super hot, borax, liquid laundry detergent, baking soda. I let it soak for 15mins & already the dirt was able to be seen.

  3. Are the agents used for the laundry stripping safe on colors? Is this safe for sensitive skin? If not, do you have recommendations?

    Thank you for sharing 😊

  4. Very interesting to learn. I do wash my clothing with those ingredients plus add in 1/4 cup of Lemon Juice.
1 Bar kirk’s Castle or Zote soap bar -Shread.
1 Bar of Ivory soap bar -Shread
2 cups Arm & Hammer Super Washing soda
    1 1/4 cup Borax
    1/4 cup Baking soda

Get a nice container with a lid.
    Mix all these ingredients together

Makes about 6 cups of detergent.
    Yes for HE machines.

    Use:
1 1/2 tbl for regular load
    1 tbl for light load
    2 tbl solid colors
1/4 cup Lemon Juice -Bottle type

First fill washer up with water, then add detergent so it will dissolve in water, now add your clothes

You will smell the freshness when done.
This one batch should give you 70-80 loads.
Time to make a new batch and you should still have all your prior boxes to use again. $ saves
    Enjoy

Tip: I bought a separate grader, measuring spoons, 1/4 cup to use only for this laundry soap making.
Plastic or glass jar w/lid works.
Make it fun for you. Add a Laundry Label create your own look..

    1. I am impressed with the results of the residue that was left behind in the house. I do want to run a load of whites so I can see the results minus the dyes that may be in the video.
However, I have used a simular recipe. I wasn’t sure how well it worked but I can discover for myself this way.
